Traffic Control

Due to the overwhelming attendance, necessary steps have been taken to alleviate the potential for traffic bottlenecks. The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast committee has met with the City of Saskatoon Police Service and their traffic division to come up with a game plan using multiple entrances to the Prairieland Park complex and a variety of options to divert traffic away from the bottleneck of Lorne and Ruth and the north gate into Prairieland Park.

Traffic will have the following choices:

  • Heading west down 8th Street, crossing Lorne Avenue and continuing west and follow Sask Cres West to St. Henry’s Avenue and around to the west entrance of Prairieland Park parking lot.
  • Heading west down Taylor Street, crossing Lorne Avenue and continuing west to St. Henry’s Avenue and then left to the west entry to the parking lot. There will be two lanes and two gates.
  • Ruth Street and Circle Drive south traffic, at Lorne Avenue, will be directed south to the east entrance to Prairieland Park where the former Prairieland Casino was and enter the Prairieland Park from the east.

In addition, we will have portable signage up to support the above along with traffic officers at each key intersection as noted above starting at 6:30 AM – the Saskatoon Police traffic division has assured us that they will be able to move the traffic very efficiently.
